Home Sweet Home is a family business run by husband & wife, Joe & Laura. Both are very excited to be bringing on new members to the team over the next month. The first person they would like to introduce you to is Nev Pope who will be part of the family as a Kitchen Designer.
Nev has been a long time friend to both Joe & Laura, with Laura even being Nev’s fiances Maid of Honour next year. Nev will be a wonderful addition to the team with plenty of exceptional customer experience and brilliant enthusiasm to train to become a full kitchen designer. Get to know Nev better with his Q&A below.
What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?
After a busy day, I like to unwind by either oil painting, playing the guitar or settling down to watch an episode of our latest streaming obsession.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was a kid, I wanted to be a professor and inventor when I grew up, but I like to think that my new role will harness my desire to be creative.
What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?
At the weekend, you’d most likely find me bodyboarding at Croyde during the Summer or going for long walks exploring, whatever the weather.
Are you a Dog or a cat person?
I am a definitely a cat person, as we have two at home, Peaches and Piper, but would equally love a dog one day.
If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?
If I could have any superpower, it would be flight and I’d travel the world for free!
What’s the first concert you went to?
My first concert was The Flaming Lips at Eden Sessions. Amazing set and lighting, they even had a Zorb ball one of the band got in too!
What’s the top destination on your must-visit list?
My must-visit destination is California, which is where I’ll hopefully be going next year for my honeymoon.
What’s your favourite place to eat around here?
Favourite place to eat out in Barnstaple has to be the Gurkha Indian restaurant.
What’s the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten?
The weirdest food I’ve ever eaten was Ostrich jerky, brought into school as a show and tell when a classmate returned from Australia.
