Learn what to expect & how to prep for your kitchen design appointment.

At Home Sweet Home, we offer a free design and measure service, however, you may be wondering what that involves. This blog takes you through the process and provides you with tips to get the most from your appointment.

If you haven’t booked your kitchen design appointment yet click here to get a date in the diary and start your journey to your dream kitchen. We’re based on Gammon Walk, right next to Barnstaple High Street.

What to expect:

  • Designs based on measurements from a site visit by a member of the Home Sweet Home team or based on measurement plans provided by yourself.
  • A 3D design of your new kitchen giving you a clear picture of how your new kitchen will look and the chance to redesign and refine all aspects of the design whilst discussing with our team.
  • A complete quote with the price breakdown which can be tailored to your budget. Our team are able to work to your wish list and suggest ways to get your perfect design within your price range.
  • The opportunity to use our ‘play your cards right’ to play with colour combination and textures.

At the end of the process, you’ll be eager to get your kitchen installation date booked.

Book Your Appointment

When you book your appointment, you’ll be asked if you would like a measurement appointment too or if you’ll provide the measurements for our team initially work with.

If you book a measurement appointment, a member of our team will come out to your home and take accurate measurements of your kitchen, they’ll also note where the plumbing & electrical points currently exist, the views to take advantage of, and any other features to take into account in the kitchen design.

If you provide the measurements we ask you to send them to info@homesweethomeltd.co.uk as soon as possible to provide the team plenty of time ahead of your design appointment to asses design options.

How To Prepare

We recommend you take a brochure when you book your design appointment, go through it and tear out the pages with ideas you’d particularly like to include in your design. Plus use a service like Pinterest or create a physical vision board of the types of style looks you love.

Once you’ve completed your wish list, send this over to your designer who will incorporate these ideas into their initial design.

If you have a budget in mind it is useful to provide this to the designer as they will work to your wish list but can then make suggestions of how you can save if needed to keep the style and quality within your budget.

The Appointment

You’ll view a 3D picture of your kitchen at the start of your appointment with the initial design idea. From there the designer will take your thoughts and begin to incorporate them.

You’ll be taken around the showroom to view different storage solutions, appliance options and all the other accessories like sinks & taps you’ll want to consider for your kitchen.

By the end of your appointment, you’ll have a complete idea of how your kitchen will look and which appliances will make your kitchen work perfectly for you.

The designer will then make sure all changes from the appointment are included in the design and update the price breakdown which will be provided to you via email soon after the appointment. You can update and alter the design as many times as you require to create the perfect look for you.
